Not only do warframes take twice as much to level up to 30 compared to weapons but you are also limited with low health and abilities are mostly impractical. There is the chance for a nuke frame like Saryn to come but it's unlikely as they themselves don't get much affinity.Īrguably the most stressful to level up.
There's also the opportunity to bring a speed buff nova if the team is able to protect the objective. Using the grattler makes this quick since it's an explosive weapon and will kill most grineer units in 2-3 shots. This groups of all the enemies and makes them easy to kill. Personally what I like to do if I am just levelling weapons is to bring Nidus built for high efficiency, high range, and low duration and spam 2 above the platform. Archgun kills will give affinity to the archgun and the frame but not the regular weapons you are carrying. So you can bring all unlevelled weapons and frames but still be able to contribute by bringing something like specters or an archwing weapon. There is no minimum level required for your warframe (ESO has a level 30 warframe requirement) so it's a great place to level up frames, even better is that you are allowed to use the gear wheel which wouldn't be an option in ESO. While the most effective method of gaining affinity is still by piggybacking, you are able to contribute more. Hydron - Hydron is a neat alternative to ESO. Because of this it's pretty inconsistent, at least for me. Much time is spent queuing up with other ESO piggybackers and searching for a Saryn which you will eventually leave when all your weapons get maxed. I personally don't like using ESO to level up items. EV trinity can provide overshields and more than enough energy. Volt can use an electric shock nuke that arcs off of enemies near each other but often is lacking in power and costs a lot of energy. Equinox can build up a nuke based off damage done to enemies and release it. That being said however there is still ways to contribute. The problem this creates however is that you have this majority of people looking to level up gear but only by relying on a team mate with a frame that can solo ESO and kill thousands of enemies, namely Saryn. So you either have to use weapons to gain affinity for them or get shared affinity from an enemy killed by a team mate. The thing with levelling gear though is that affinity from enemies killed by your warframe go directly to the warframe, not your weapons. Here's some favorable methods of farming affinity I've come up with / learned throughout all that time spent.ĮSO piggyback - ESO without a doubt is the fastest way to level up gear. Didn't really have much of a reason other then to feel like I completed something while watching anime to the side.
