Kely Pinheiro is a Brazilian multi-instrumentalist and arranger based in Boston. He already has appeared in magazines, participated in international conferences and festivals, and shared the stage with renowned Latin American jazz musicians. However, he continued to pursue his studies in the Brazilian genre known as choro, a style originating in the 19th century that combines European and African influences. At 13, he switched from the 8-string to the 10-string bandolim. Mandolinist Ian Coury began his musical journey at the age of 7. This Two Track episode features the cello-bandolim duo Kely and Ian performing the songs “Ponteio” by Edu Lobo and “Carinhoso” by Pixinguinha.
