Kely Pinheiro is a Brazilian multi-instrumentalist and arranger based in Boston. However, he continued to pursue his studies in the Brazilian genre known as choro, a style originating in the 19th century that combines European and African influences. At 13, he switched from the 8-string to the 10-string bandolim. Mandolinist Ian Coury began his musical journey at the age of 7. This Two Track episode features the cello-bandolim duo Kely and Ian performing the songs “Ponteio” by Edu Lobo and “Carinhoso” by Pixinguinha.
